Dampening the Mood
This time of year is really weird in Hokkaido because the weather is trying to change from Summer to Fall and then of course Winter. So it’s been rainy more then anything else. This has caused the yard to be MUDDY and the puppies to be dirty. Some of them are also not the biggest fan of being wet but also with the temperature drop they are sometimes cold outside.
It’s also in this weird situation where its not cold enough to run our heater so it has caused DAMPNESS!
I’m hoping that the weather at least shifts between hot and cold every day, it did that before so i’m hoping that it’ll do it again.
This has caused me to want to push forward with the renovation of our front yard. While it’s not the ideal situation we are thinking of making it a concrete area so that it’s easier for us to keep clean and sanitary as well as keeping the puppies a little cleaner. Our back yard area where they also have access to run will still be grass.
So the playable space is 50% concrete and 50% grass.
This really brings me back to the desire to move to a larger space for the dogs. Right now we have about a combined 1/2 acre space for them to run around. While I can expand it another 1000 sqft or so it still not what i’d like for them ideally.
My DREAM for the dogs is to have a space that is about 1 acre dedicated to their play and run. It’s so important to me that this happens so all of my work and energy is geared to making a better space for them.
An acre is a good amount of space to have them run free and have enough space for all of them to not get in each others way.
Another thought is when we do get the farm for the puppies, how will the setup be. I’m thinking of creating a “barn” space for them where they can have rooms for each of them that is easily cleaned and can be cooled or warmed quickly depending on the season. I’d also like a small “outside” space for them to go into that is connected to each of their personal spaces. AND an area dedicated to baths. Such a dream hahaha.
But if anything, I am determined so I will make it a reality.
I am thankful for all the support and love the puppies get from everyone. It means a lot to me and our family. And i know that even though she is not with us, our Sandee girl is happy to know her babies are being loved.
In any case, thank you, and see you in the next one.
