Hip Adjustment

So today I went to the chiropractor as my hip and back were starting to hurt lot. Kind of to the point where sitting was becoming painful as well has interrupting my sleep. It’s something I need to take more care of and I’m glad I went today.

As anything while living here in Japan, communication was a little difficult. Luckily the doctor spoke enough English and I understood enough Japanese to make it happen.

I’m always impressed, although I shouldn’t be, on how accurate these doctors can be at pin pointing the cause of the issue. He asked me if I sit crossed legged, which I honestly do. And a lot. He also asked if I stood a certain way, which again I do a lot especially while waiting for things like the train and finally he asked if I used a keyboard and mouse a lot which I laughed and said yes.

All of these things I’m not supposed to do as they add to the compression of my sciatic nerve, which is what was causing a lot of my issues.

My back pain was incredibly sore and hard to work with. The doctor laughed as said that I needed to take more care of my back and stretch more. Which I have started incorporating.

I have a follow up appointment this Saturday and i’m hoping that it keeps me on track to feeling better.

Recently I have started taking a better approach to my health. Watching what I eat and when. As well as taking more supplements and apple cider vinegar to help keep my blood sugar and other things in order.

Since starting I do feel better and I want to say the sleep that I do get is more consistent and fulfilling. I’m hoping that if I stick with the adjustments and with the “wise” eating habits my overall health will improve.

In any case, if you’re not feeling well or right with your body, its important to take the time to address it. You never know if the fix will be fast or take time. I’ll keep you all posted on my progress as things move forward.

Until the next one!
