Looming Social Media Situations

As most of you already know the whole situation of TikTok being banned in the United States is something that has been of huge topic for a while. And while we don’t want to make this post political I wanted to express our concerns about the banning of any particular social media or mainstream media networks.

While I don’t always agree with what is published online, I do have to admit I love the fact that it’s possible for those viewpoints to be heard across to a wide range of audience. After all it gives perspective to both sides of any one argument.

The ban on TikTok or potential ban on TikTok worries me in the sense that what happens when free speech is infringed on. It' starts at one then move on to another until the control of speech or expression is dwindled down to a few options or under heavy review and repercussions. Sites like this are a small way to express ones feeling but also it is part of a larger yet easier to control platform.

So i’m hoping that things work out for the best, I’m sad for those who have made life changing success on TikTok, I worry for those who felt they had a community there and I worry that the freedoms they have found and the voices they have found will be silenced.

But time will tell how we all have to work in the future. So lets hope for the best.
