Advancement in Technology

It never ceases to amaze me how fast and impressive changes in technology can be. When the iPhone first came out I can’t honestly remember if there was a “notes” app but in recent days it’s almost always a standard component of the iPhone.

And honestly the Notes app is a totally underutilized piece of technology, in my opinion and perhaps just in my life.

Last night as I was writing a VoiceOver on our company computer I realized that I didn’t have Microsoft word installed on it, so of course I looked for another option which took me to the Notes app.

While I wasn’t the biggest fan of the maximum size of the text (maybe it can be larger but i’ll have to play with settings) I was impressed with the fact that you can in fact RECORD on the same page the text is on. This creates a script and a location to record all in one place, which for me is amazing because it makes things faster, more efficient and easy to store and search for later.

It can also act as a document scanner and a handwriting note pad.

I’m also certain you can share notes and have other input on the note itself, which is an amazing situation for those who need shopping lists, working on projects or really just want to keep everyone else updated.

Being late to the game on the Notes app has made me wonder what else i’m missing. But overall for someone who creates scripts and records them (not always) having a “one stop shop” is game changing, and I wish I knew it sooner.

in any case that was my 2 cents to share.

Until the next one.
