Scary Dog Dad Moments

Recently our Mama dog Sandee has been experiencing a multitude of health issues. Starting with blindness and now experiencing episodes of encephalitis (swelling of the brain).

She was finally able to schedule an appointment at Hokkaido University to have an MRI done and hopefully get to the bottom of things.

But two days ago she had a massive seizure which caused us to take action quicker. Luckily the seizure passed and she recovered but it was a scary realization that she needs advanced help soon.

Our doctor has put her on several anti-seizure medicines and now on injectable steroids to hopefully keep the swelling down. But these are only temporary patches to hopefully get us to where we need to be to create an accurate treatment plan.

Many people can relate and agree with me that it’s scary when something happens to someone or something they love. Especially when that something can’t communicate what’s going on.

I’m just hoping that the mri will shed some much needed light on a dark and confusing situation.

I’m so very thankful to the amazing staff and doctor at Aira Hospital. He has been with us every step of the way and has really showed care and compassion for our fur babies.

But I’ll keep you all post on what’s going on. Please wish us the best of luck and pray for speedy recoveries.

Until the next one…
