A Dogs Dream

Not sure if you all know or not but my brother and I have a total of 10 dogs. Back in November of 2022 our Mama, Sandee had 10 puppies. Two of which went to a family friend while the others stay with us for various reasons. Our home is jam packed with the high pace energy of puppies!

Watching our puppies grow from birth till present has been one of the greatest moments thus far in my life. They truly are to a degree my babies. But with growth comes SIZE! Our dogs are Labrador Golden Retrievers or for short “Goldadors”. The average size for a Goldador is between 68lbs to 90lbs depending. And as their dad is on the larger size we assume so will the babies be.

I’ve quickly realized that the space we have for the dogs will likely not be enough. We have about a 1000 sqft of land fenced for them to run around, go to the bathroom and play but as the days pass, the 1000 just isnt enough.

So whats our dogs dream or at least the dream I have for our dogs? Probably a farm.

This is hopefully a midterm goal, unfortunately we are not obscenely rich so we can’t just go out and buy a farm for the babies but we can work, save and have goals like everyone else. So my goal at least midterm is to save enough money to purchase a piece of land / house with at least two acres for the puppies to run, play and just enjoy life as much as they can.

I see this as a far goal as they bring so much happiness into my life, it’s the least I can do for them.

But, a farm is not sustainable unless there is some type of income from it. So is there a plan to this madness? Why, YES!

IF we are able to purchase a farm land and have a space dedicated to the puppies then the plan would be to plant, grow and utilize apples! Apples are one of my favorite fruits, and the options are high with cultivating them. We could do apple picking days where people come in and pick apples with their dogs, we could make a brandy or even cut them and dehydrate them into dog treats. I call this endless opportunity!

SO while goals are important for yourself they are also important to keep in mind when it comes to those you love. I want the best for my babies and I need to ensure they have a healthy, happy life. So I will work my hardest to make that dream and goal a reality!

Maybe i’ll start a small jar of coins and put in 100 yen or so per day as a start and as I make more i’ll add more…. perhaps its a good idea haha.
